My name is Mary Ann , I am 62 years old and I have had Parkinson's Disease for 10 years.
In the beginning, I had become very disabled. As a teacher, I was unabkke to stay on my feet too long, and walking a distance (one wing of the building to another wing). For a long span of time I was unable to eat in public (unless it was finger food) because my tremors were so bad. I had to quit my job because I did not have the stamina to maintain a full time position and part time work was not an option. Fatigue and weakness limited my mobility and tremors were keeping me from the things I loved to do.
Fortunately, I have a strong faith in God, a loving husband, supportive family and friends, and a good positive attitude to help me through these tough times.
THE GOOD NEWS...
I still have PD, but, now I've been able to live my best life in spite of these awful PD symptoms and I want to share this with my fellow PD patients.
